What’s the point of building wealth if you’re too exhausted to enjoy it?

What’s the point of building wealth if you’re too exhausted to enjoy it?

I spent years asking myself a version of this question
and never sitting with the answer long enough to do something about it.

I was a Dutch Special Forces operator, deployed to Bosnia, Afghanistan, Iraq.

Trained for discipline, endurance, mission execution at the highest level.

When I left the military and built a business,
I applied that same intensity.

Non-stop, no recovery, always in motion.

I called it work ethic.
It was the same pattern that nearly broke me.

The problem was never the pace. It was that there was no destination worth arriving at in the state I was in.

Building fast toward a life you’re too depleted to actually live is not a strategy. It’s a very expensive trap.

Total wealth is built at a pace your body and mind can sustain.

Recovery is not a reward you earn at the end. It’s part of the work.

The same principle applies in business and in life.
