Three things my daughter Leyla won’t say at my funeral:
– ‘I really respect how much horsepower my dad´s car had.’
– ‘I love that I grew up in the biggest house on the street.’
– ‘I vividly remember having more toys than my friends. Thank you, Dad.’
I would like her to say:
– ‘I love all the time we spent together and the memories we made. He lives on in my heart’.
– ‘He was always there for me, inspiring me and helping me become the best version of myself.’
– ‘Whenever I needed help, Dad was the first to call and first to show up.’
That is my real legacy.
So I have to earn it. Live that way now.
What would you like your kids to say about you at your funeral?
