My definition of a flex has changed. Dramatically.

My definition of a flex has changed. Dramatically.

What I used to consider a flex:
– the villa in Spain
– the business revenue
– never missing an email
(yes. I was proud of never missing an email ๐Ÿ˜†)

What I now consider a flex:
– trail running in the mountains at 8am on a Tuesday
– being sober for 10 years
– watching Leyla turn uphill at the fork without asking which way

That last one.
No hesitation. No looking back.
Just โ€” uphill. Obviously uphill.

I don’t know when that happened.
But it got me right here.

Here’s the lesson nobody tells you:
Your flexes reveal your values.
And your values reveal the life you’re actually living.

Not the one you post about.
The real one.

When your biggest flex is a status symbol..
you’re building for other people.

When your biggest flex is a Tuesday morning run and a sober decade, you’re building for yourself.

The shift doesn’t happen overnight.
It happens decision by decision.

– what you say no to
– what you protect
– what you stop needing other people to notice

The villa was impressive to other people.
The sobriety is impressive to me.

The revenue paid for things.
The Tuesday morning run pays for everything else.

And Leyla choosing the harder path without thinking twice?

That’s not something you buy.
That’s something you build.

Slowly. Quietly.
By living it yourself first.

Flexes change when values change.
Values change when you have a framework.

What’s on your old flex list that you’d rather not admit to in public?

(be honest. I just confessed to being proud of my email response rate ๐Ÿ˜†)
