And most fathers are too busy to afford it.
I was one of them.
I was home every evening.
On time, even 😆
My daughter would start telling me about her day
and I’d do what I called “active listening”
which, looking back, was just nodding
while mentally solving a website optimisation problem.
She figured it out before I did. I´m sure.
Kids always do.
Here’s the truth:
Your scarcest resource isn’t time or money.
It’s presence.
– the business will survive without you for an hour.
– the meeting can wait.
– the email will still be there.
But the moment your daughter stops trying to tell you about her day?
That one doesn’t come back.
Your kids don’t need:
– another zero in your account
– a bigger title
– a more impressive exit
They need YOU.
Not the distracted version.
Not the “five more minutes” version.
The one who actually shows up.
