“The person who started reading this isn’t the same one who’ll finish it.”
Think about that for a second.
We walk around with this bizarre idea that we’re complete – a finished product.
Yet biology tells a different story:
– Your body replaces most cells every 7-10 years
– Your brain rewires with every new thought
– Your preferences shift with every experience
You’ve already died a thousand deaths:
– The toddler you were died to become the child
– The teenager died to become the young adult
– Yesterday’s version of you died to become today’s
We know we are completely different from who we were 5 years ago.
Still we think we will not change much in the next 5.
Like a snake shedding its skin, growth isn’t optional – it’s inevitable.
The only choice is whether you direct it or let it happen to you.
Remember learning to ride a bike?
That wobble. That uncertainty. That need for constant motion.
Life works the same way:
– Stop moving, you fall
– Keep moving, you find balance
– Gain momentum, you find freedom
But here’s what most miss:
You’re not just changing – you’re actively becoming.
Every:
– Book you read
– Conversation you have
– Experience you choose (or avoid)
Is silently sculpting your next version
The tragedy isn’t failing to become who you want to be.
It’s desperately clinging to who you used to be.
Because while change is inevitable, growth is intentional.
What version of you is trying to emerge?
What skin needs shedding?
PS.: About the picture: my version of ‘being a dad of a young daughter, died. Now I am now a dad of a teenager.
This just happened. Other versions of me died intentionally. Evolution.
