They all know exactly:
– Positions climbed
– Certifications gained
– Promotions received
Or, in the case of entrepreneurs:
– Revenue made
– Numbers of clients served
– Client acquisition costs
They all know their ‘Business Score Card’.
Easy to measure. Instant status. The stuff you post on LinkedIn.
And:
Future goals are clear.
Strategy defined.
Milestones identified.
But when I ask them about their ‘Life Score Card,’ they draw a blank.
How about:
– Your health (mental and physical)?
– Your relationships (family and friends)?
– Your purpose?
When was the last time you did something epic that made your heart leap?
Did something you are proud of… outside work?
Had a meaningful conversation with your kid?
Your business scorecard means nothing if your life scorecard is in the red.
Think about it:
• What good is a 7-figure business if your health is failing?
• What’s the point of market dominance if your relationships are crumbling?
• Why chase status if you’ve lost your sense of purpose?
The solution isn’t necessarily to make less money.
It’s to expand your definition of success.
Try this:
Rate yourself (1-10) in these areas:
• Physical health
• Mental wellbeing
• Key relationships
• Time freedom
• Personal growth
• Business success
Which number surprised you?
Because real wealth isn’t just what you own.
It’s how well you live.
