In Special Operations, operational security wasn’t just important – it was life or death. I still apply this principle, but in another way….
As a Special Operators, we trained extensively to protect mission-critical information.
Even underwent resistance training: interrogations, sleep deprivation, stress positions, freezing cold, constant noise.
That’s how crucial information protection was. It saves lives.
Twenty years later, I still apply these OPSEC principles.
Not to protect military secrets anymore.
But to protect something possibly equally valuable:
My dreams. My goals. My vision.
Here’s why:
Going for ambitious goals is already an uphill battle:
• Transforming your health and lifestyle
• Rebuilding relationships that matter
• Creating more freedom in your life
• Any other goal you have
These dreams are fragile in their early stages.
Like a seedling that needs protection to grow.
Self-doubt will creep in. Trust me, I face myself it daily.
Even now, building my coaching practice and related projects, those thoughts surface:
“Can I really do this?”
“Am I good enough?”
“Will this work?”
That’s exactly why I don’t need additional voices questioning my vision.
Not everyone will understand your journey.
Not everyone has the same vision.
Not everyone needs to.
People mean well, but they project their own fears:
“Isn’t that risky?”
“Are you sure about this?”
“What if you fail?”
OPSEC principle:
Share information only with those who absolutely need to know and will support the mission.
Your dreams? They’re your mission now.
– Protect them..
– Work in silence.
– Let your results do the talking.
Because nothing silences doubters like success.
Keep your goals close.
Your vision clear.
Your mission secret.
Until it’s time to let your achievements speak for themselves.
