In September 2021 we bought a small online health food and supplement company in The Netherlands.
It was adorable, with just a couple of orders a day.
But, of course, we had bigger plans for it:
Make more people healthier with Superfoods, by increasing our revenue by at least 1800% (yes, 18X) in 3 years.
We reached that target…..well within 3 years.
We needed 1 thing and 1 thing only > EXTREME FOCUS.
Like a guided missile.
Let me share something mind-blowing from the book ‘Psycho-Cybernetics’ that changed how I see failure.
Here’s the thing about guided missiles:
They’re off course 90% of the time!
Yep, you read that right.
But they still hit their targets with incredible precision.
How? They just keep making tiny adjustments based on feedback.
They don’t panic.
They don’t turn back.
They definitely don’t change targets mid-flight.
Sound familiar?
I see this with my high-achieving clients all the time.
One setback and they want to:
– Completely change direction
– Start over
– Slow down to “figure things out”
– Switch to an entirely new goal
Stop. Just stop.
Those “failures” you’re experiencing?
They’re not failures at all. They’re feedback.
The missile doesn’t slow down when it gets feedback.
It doesn’t question its target.
It just adjusts and keeps moving forward.
Full speed ahead.
That’s your blueprint for success right there.
Keep your target locked.
Stay at full speed.
Make micro-adjustments.
Trust the process.
Because just like that missile, you might be off course 90% of the time…
But you’ll still hit your target if you just. keep. going.
