You’re not alone.
Here’s what Marcus Aurelius, emperor of Rome, wrote in his private journal during his darkest moments:
“Today I escaped anxiety. Or no, I discarded it, because it was within me, in my own perceptions – not outside.”
That feeling of:
• Not being enough
• Losing control
• Questioning everything
• Wanting to quit
It’s not a bug in your system.
It’s a feature of being human.
Even the:
• Most successful
• Most disciplined
• Most confident
Feel like this at times.
But, they understand that:
• Feelings are weather, not climate
• Tough times are seasons, not permanent states
• Discomfort is merely a visitor, not a permanent resident
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝘁𝗼𝗶𝗰 𝗣𝗹𝗮𝘆𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸:
1. Accept what you can’t control
2. Focus on what you can: Action beats Fear
3. Remember: “This too shall pass” (this quote saved my sanity 100s of times!)
𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝟭% 𝗥𝘂𝗹𝗲:
You don’t need to feel good.
You need to keep going.
Just 1% better than yesterday. Tiny gains are OK.
Had a rough day? A week? Or even a month?
A moment in your life is not your life.
Remember: You have survived 100% of your darkest moments.
It will pass.
You will adapt.
You will rise.
