In 2015, I threw my 8 year old out of a plane.
Queenstown, New Zealand:
Cramped up in a Pilatus Porter plane at 14.000 feet, both strapped to a stranger, I high fived my daughter Leyla.
You could see the excitement in her eyes. This is it.
Engine cut back. Door opened. Fierce, but warm wind blew into the cabin.
“Green on!”
Leyla and get instructor moved into the position in the door.
“Go!”
They fell into ´nothingness´ together.
A couple of minutes later, back on the ground, she runs to me, hugs me, and says: ´That was soooooo amazing! I want to do that every day!´
Now: “What parent, in their right mind, would do that?”
Let me tell you.
As a family, we collect memories together.
They pay us dividends every year.
This is one of them.
Because we retire to memories, not money.
What matters with experiences?
Frequency and Intensity.
The lesson here:
Stack them early. Make them intense.
All because of 1 decision in 2009:
How we make money supports our lifestyle, not the other way around.
