That old saying about being the average of the 5 people you spend the most time with? I´ve got news for you: 👇

Because here’s the thing:
For most of us, 2-3 of those “people” aren’t people at all.

They’re:
• Social media feeds
• Netflix algorithms
• YouTube recommendations

Think about the math:
4 hours daily on social media = 1,460 hours yearly
That’s more time than most spend with their family.

These digital “relationships” are:
• Carefully curated highlight reels
• Algorithmically designed to hook you
• Always selling something (products or lifestyles)
• Showing only a ´I am so happy´- version of your connections

Want to reclaim those spots for real humans?

Here are 3 strategies that transformed my relationship with technology:

– Physical Distance Creates Mental Space
Put your phone in another room during work (try it out)
Create phone-free zones (bedroom, dining area)
Break the unconscious reach

– The Morning Shield
No phone for the first hour after waking
Replace scrolling with reading/exercise/meditation

– Social Media Batching
Check platforms only twice daily

The result?
• Clearer thinking
• Better relationships
• More authentic connections

You’re still the average of 5 influences.

But now you get to choose who (or what) those five are.

Make sure they’re actually human. 😃
