“You Did Not Come This Far, Just To Come This Far”

My wife and daughter beside me.
And there I was, trying to hide tears 😳
Jesse Itzler stood on stage, his words cutting through the noise straight to my heart.
Why did it hit so hard?
Because it exposed the beautiful lie we tell ourselves:
– That we’re not enough.
– That we haven’t done enough.
– That somehow, despite everything, we’re still falling short.
You know that feeling:
• The constant chase of “what’s next”
• The endless pursuit of bigger goals
• The relentless focus on what’s still undone
We live in what Benjamin Hardy, PhD and Dan Sullivan call “The Gap” – that eternal space between where we are and where we think we should be.
Being in the Gap hurts.
But here’s the truth that changed everything:
Success without acknowledgment is just exhaustion in disguise.
Think about it:
• The obstacles you’ve overcome
• The fears you’ve faced
• The growth you’ve achieved
• The lives you’ve touched
You didn’t just arrive here by accident.
Every step towards your goal.
Every struggle.
Every small win.
They all mattered.
This isn’t about settling.
It’s about recognizing your journey while still dreaming bigger.
It’s about measuring backwards sometimes:
• Remember where you started
• Celebrate how far you’ve come
• Acknowledge your growth
• Honor your resilience
Because here’s the real magic:
When you appreciate how far you’ve come,
You find the strength to go even further. It will be your fuel.
You are not starting from 0.
You have momentum already.
So yes, keep pushing.
Keep dreaming.
Keep building.
And remember:
You didn’t come this far, just to come this far.
You came this far to prove you could go even further.
