My day lasted 31 hours.
We flew from Bali to Barcelona. Seven-hour time difference.
I was awake for 26 of those hours.
Some people can sleep on planes. I can’t.
Picture this:
Cabin lights off. All screens dark. Everyone asleep or faking it perfectly.
Every position imaginable.
Me? Wide awake.
Not great for someone who loves their sleep.
Then we arrived home. We live in the Pyrenees. Minus 5 degrees at night.
I had turned off all heating before Bali. Bad move 😉
Inside was worse than outside.
Toothpaste? Partially frozen. The bedsheets? Pretty sure I heard them crack.
Yes, that cold.
My wife considers this a survival situation.
Solution: All heating on. Full power.
Had to get the cold “out of the house.”
Hours of shivering in bed.
But this morning? Perfect temperature. Could turn most heating off.
Wife happy. Daughter happy. Me happy.
It reminded me of something:
All change is hard. It requires massive energy to start.
But once you’re moving? Gets easier and easier.
Think Newton’s First Law:
“An object at rest stays at rest. An object in motion stays in motion. Unless acted upon by force.”
The start is always hardest.
Just begin. Push through that first phase.
The rest will follow.
