What moving to Spain taught me about Life….
“BBQ at mine, 4 PM?”
These are my favorite messages to get. “I’m Game!”
It’s 2006, and we’ve just moved to Spain. We’re pouring ourselves into growing our business, working side by side with good friends.
But here’s the best part:
When the sun’s shining (which is nearly every day), and someone suggests getting together…we’re in.
No questions asked.
No long calendar battles.
Just “Yes, let’s go.”
Our priorities? Totally clear.
Back in the Netherlands, it’d take us six weeks to organize even a small gathering.
Checking schedules, syncing up—everything felt so planned, so rigid.
And for what?
Moving to Spain taught me something huge.
Life’s too short to let everything else steal away the best parts—the people, the moments, the fun.
This place didn’t just give us the sunshine. It reminded us of what truly matters.
I love this life.
Get your priorities right.
Don’t let work steal your best moments.
PS: We always bought our meat at a specialty store.
One day they just had to ask me: “What restaurant are you from?” 😉 Massive BBQs…..lots of them.
About the picture: “Wanna ride today?”
“Sure, Game on!”
