Last autumn, my daughter Leyla bought an Amazon KDP book business at 18 years old. Here’s what really happened:
The Journey:
• Initial excitement over “passive income” (it rarely is passive)
• Reality hit: Numbers dropped…badly…close to zero…doubt creeps in
• Went cash flow negative, putting money into the company daily
• Hired a coach, created new products
• Managed freelancers
• Strong Q4 sales, January reality check (worst KDP month of the year)
• Hired an ads guy (monthly expense commitment)
• Now balancing full-time ski instructor work with business
Real Learning:
• Money management
• Team leadership
• Business operations
• Resilience building
Why I’m Proud:
Not because she’s making millions.
But because she’s learning through doing.
It´s incredible to see how much she has grown in the last 6 months.

Success isn’t about avoiding mistakes.
